Jesus said, Change your hearts and show by the way you live that you have changed. Matthew 3:8 AMP
Believing in and accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior leads to faith in God. Faith in God leads to knowing His Will in our lives through the Holy Spirit in our hearts. If we search for Him with all our heart, He will begin to mould our lives to His Will, His Purpose. Jeremiah 29:13
What is God's Will for man? That we be not conformed to this world, but that we be transformed by a renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 There is no greater gift from God than love, charity, which is unselfish, unconditional love for mankind, not because we have to, or think we should, but because we genuinely love people as if they are us (transformed by the renewing of our mind). 1Corinthians 13:13 |
Jesus confirms in Matthew 19:21 that this unconditional love is the most important gift to master if we want to be perfect like Him:
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." There is a multitude of scripture that teaches, and even warns, us to do good, help the needy, be a servant of all, or, in other words, be like Jesus: Matthew 6:19-21, Matthew 25:32-46, Mark 3:4, Luke 14:12-14, Luke 18:18-30, Acts 20:35, Deuteronomy 15:7-8, Deuteronomy 15:11, Proverbs 22:9, Ephesians 4:28, 1 Thessalonians 5, 1 Timothy 6:17-19, 1 John 3:17-18 |
