Hidden in Plain Sight

Open Bible with books flying out, with words: "No," "We know better," "Out," No.
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18-19

In 2023, I wrote about the sevenfold purification of the English translation of the Bible, into the 1611 “King James Bible,” a lineage connected to Psalm 12:6 “The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

The seven purifications of God’s Word are related to the English translation of the Septuagint (early Greek translation) and other Hebrew source texts comprising God’s Holy Word, into one Bible for English-speaking people. Until 1539, there was no English translation.

The Seven Purifications (Tyndale, Coverdale, Matthew’s Bible, Great Bible, Geneva Bible, Bishops’ Bible, and 1611 King James Bible)

1st Purification: Tyndale Bible (started translating 1523, New Testament printed 1525–26)

William Tyndale began translating the Scriptures in 1523 while he was still in England as a tutor and chaplain. When the Catholic Church authorities refused to allow an English Bible and threatened him, he fled to the Continent in 1524 to continue the work in safety. His New Testament was printed in 1525–26 directly from the original Greek New Testament texts. He also translated portions of the Old Testament from the Hebrew texts. In May 1535 he was betrayed in Antwerp by an Englishman named Henry Phillips and arrested by officers of the Holy Roman Empire acting under Emperor Charles V. He was imprisoned in Vilvoorde Castle near Brussels for 16½ months, tried for heresy, and executed on October 6, 1536. He was strangled at the stake and his body burned. His crime was translating the Bible into the language of ordinary English people and adding marginal notes that challenged certain Catholic Church teachings and practices, such as cash for indulgences (paying for forgiveness of sins). At the stake he prayed aloud, in front of many witnesses, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.”

Significance for the time: This was the costly foundation of the entire seven-fold purification process. Tyndale was executed by the Holy Roman Empire because he translated the Bible into English and made God’s Word available to ordinary people.

2nd Purification: Coverdale Bible (started translating 1528, printed 1535)

Miles Coverdale began his translation work in 1528 while Tyndale was still actively translating the Old Testament on the Continent. The two men overlapped for roughly seven full years (1528–1535) and Coverdale even served as Tyndale’s assistant in Antwerp. Coverdale stayed hidden better than Tyndale, kept a lower profile, and avoided the direct confrontations that led to Tyndale’s arrest and subsequent execution. He completed the very first complete printed English Bible (Old and New Testaments) in late 1535, just months before Tyndale’s arrest and dying prayer. The entire work was produced in secret on the Continent (mainly Antwerp) and smuggled into England.

Significance for the time: This was the quiet next step while the first purification was still paying the ultimate price. Coverdale produced the very first complete printed English Bible, but it remained hidden and had to be smuggled into the country. It was not openly or freely given to the English people until the Great Bible in 1539.

3rd Purification: Matthew’s Bible (printed 1537)

John Rogers, who had also worked closely with Tyndale, compiled this Bible in 1536–1537, roughly one year after Tyndale’s execution. He took Tyndale’s unpublished Old Testament manuscripts (which Tyndale had entrusted to him before his death), plus Coverdale’s completed portions and combined them into one volume, the Matthew’s Bible. Rogers still had to publish it under the fake name “Thomas Matthew” to protect the work, and it was printed on the Continent and brought into England under cover. Even though Henry VIII licensed it for sale, Tyndale’s name remained too dangerous to use openly.

Significance for the time: This was the rapid, hidden follow-up that preserved Tyndale’s full legacy right after his martyrdom. It kept the refining process alive while persecution was still intense and the threat of arrest remained real.

4th Purification: Great Bible (printed and distributed 1539)

Coverdale himself was brought back in to revise and enlarge the Matthew’s Bible. In 1539, exactly three years after Tyndale prayed at the stake, King Henry VIII (the same king Tyndale had prayed for God to open the eyes of the King) officially authorized the Great Bible and ordered it placed in every church in England for public reading. This was the first time an English Bible was royally commanded to be openly displayed and read aloud in churches across the land.

Significance for the time: This was the direct answer to Tyndale’s dying prayer. The first three purifications had been hidden in blood and exile. The fourth became the breakthrough moment when the King’s eyes were opened and God’s Word finally went public in the churches for ordinary English-speaking people.

5th Purification: Geneva Bible (printed 1560)

English Protestant refugees fled to Geneva, Switzerland, during the violent Catholic reign of Queen Mary I (Bloody Mary, 1553–1558) and produced the Geneva Bible there. Hundreds of Protestants were burned at the stake under Mary, so the exiles worked in secret in Geneva. They created a popular study Bible with strong notes that opposed some Catholic doctrines. Once completed, the Geneva Bible was smuggled back into England.

Significance for the time: They created a popular study Bible with strong marginal notes that sharply opposed Catholic doctrines such as the sale of indulgences (paying money for forgiveness of sins), purgatory, and the supreme authority of the Pope.

6th Purification: Bishops’ Bible (printed 1568)

A group of bishops worked on this Bible right inside England under Queen Elizabeth I. It was officially commissioned by the Church of England and produced openly without the need for exile or pseudonyms. The bishops revised the earlier translations to create an authorized version for use in churches.

Significance for the time: After England returned to Protestant rule, the Church needed its own official English Bible to replace the very popular but “too Calvinist” Geneva notes. This was the authorized church version used in worship, still open and protected, but not yet the final unified purification.

7th Purification: King James Bible (1611)

King James I personally commissioned 47–54 of the best scholars in six companies at Oxford, Cambridge, and Westminster. They worked openly from 1604 to 1611 with the strongest royal backing England had ever given a translation project. No exile, no pseudonyms, no smuggling. All six previous purifications were gathered, compared, and polished into one pure Bible for the whole realm.

Significance for the time: This was the seventh and final refinement of God’s Word that had stood for over fifteen centuries, or 1,500 years. By the time of this final purification, the violent opposition that killed Tyndale had been pushed back. The work could be finished in complete peace and safety under full royal protection, producing the completed, seven-times-purified Word that would stand unchallenged for English-speaking people for the next 274 years.

The King James translators did not translate the Hebrew canon alone. They worked from the Christian scriptural tradition, which included the Greek Septuagint, the Latin Vulgate, and every English Bible before them. Every book translated into the 1611 King James Bible, except the Hebrew canon, contained 14 additional books that were removed 274 years after the 1611 King James purification. These 14 books were used by Christians for some 1,500 years.

The 1611 KJV and all five of the six translations before it (excluding Tyndale because he was murdered before he could translate those 14 books), printed the Bible with those 14 books included, without controversy or hesitation. They were a part of the purification process, and God’s Final Word in written form. The removal of these 14 books in 1885, 274 years after the 1611 King James Bible, was not a theological correction but an alleged publishing decision, justified as cost‑cutting and printing efficiency. It also happened to occur within a generation (25 years) of the rise of Darwinism (which professed evolution not creation), thereby trying to explain away God as creator. The result was a Bible stripped of texts that had been a part of the Christian tradition for over fifteen centuries, or 1,500 years, and ultimately purified and refined in fire seven times into the 1611 King James Bible. Psalm 12:6

The 14 books removed were not a different doctrine, but they did contain information about protecting our body, mind and soul from a defiled world, information that is not contained in the modern King James Bible or any modern Bible. The information contained in these 14 removed books was highly unique in many ways. The part that humbled me was realizing that those books were removed after the purification. They were not removed before or during, but after. The original 1611 King James Bible included the 39 books of the Old Testament, the 27 books of the New Testament, and 14 additional books placed between them. These books were not hidden, and they were not controversial in the English tradition, and certainly not in the early church tradition. They were not added by the purification process. They were already present in the source texts being translated. They were simply part of the Bible as it existed at the time, preserved through the lineage and printed faithfully by the translators for 1,500 years.

The removal of these 14 books did not happen in 1611, or in 1700, or in 1800. The books were removed in 1885, 274 years after the 1611 King James Bible was completed. They were not removed by the translators or by the purification lineage, and not by divine command. They were removed by publishers and Bible societies and churches who lost their way for reasons such as printing costs, denominational pressure, shifting attitudes, and committee decisions. They were not removed because of revelation, purification, or inspiration.

Here is what was actually taken out of the seven-times-purified 1611 King James Bible (Read the 14 removed books here), the very books that showed how to protect your body, mind, and soul before the empire of this world could defile them:

  1. Esdras 1
Main Theme: Return from exile and rebuilding of the Temple
Body: Physical contest of strength among three young men
Mind: Wisdom contest — wine, king, women, and truth strongest of all
Soul: Recognition of God’s truth and sovereignty in history
Antithesis today: Truth is shown stronger than wine, kings, or human power. This stands against today’s systems that use media, algorithms, and false authority to keep God’s people in exile from truth and block the rebuilding of His Temple in the hearts of men.
  2. Esdras 2
Main Theme: Apocalyptic visions of evil, suffering, end times
    Body: —
Mind: Visions of creation and final judgment
Soul: Repentance, resurrection, and eternal destiny
Antithesis today: The visions expose the full scope of man’s evil and call for repentance before the end. They stand against today’s systems that hide the coming judgment and replace eternal hope with temporary distractions and false security.
  3. Tobit
Main Theme: Righteous family life in exile and angelic deliverance
Body: Angel Raphael heals physical blindness and drives out demon
Mind: Guided by angelic instruction and prayer
Soul: Family prayer, almsgiving, and mercy restore the soul
Antithesis today: Godly family life and angelic deliverance protect the body and home from demonic attack. This is the direct opposite of today’s entertainment that glorifies evil spirits, blood rituals, and the breakdown of the family unit.
  4. Judith
Main Theme: Heroic deliverance by a godly widow
Body: Widow’s body placed in mortal danger during siege
Mind: Courageous, strategic mind that outwits the enemy
Soul: Soul fully surrendered to God for deliverance
Antithesis today: A surrendered body and mind that refuse to bow to invading empire power. This stands against today’s pressure to surrender the body and soul to fear, compromise, and the debauchery that demands obedience to evil spirits.
  5. Rest of Esther
Main Theme: Expanded Esther story with prayer and God’s intervention
Body: Esther’s body threatened with death
Mind: Mind filled with fasting and prayer
Soul: Soul trusts God alone and shifts a nation’s destiny
Antithesis today: Fasting, prayer, and trust in God alone deliver the body and nation. This is the opposite of today’s systems that demand the body be given over to their solutions while filling the mind with idol-worship of celebrities and occult-filled entertainment.
  6. Wisdom of Solomon
Main Theme: Praise of divine Wisdom and righteous living
Body: Body is a temporary “earthy tent” that burdens the soul
Mind: Wisdom present at creation and guides righteous living
Soul: Immortality of the soul and final judgment
Antithesis today: Divine Wisdom sees the body as God’s temple and guards the soul for eternity. This stands against today’s tampering with creation and the debauchery that treats the body as disposable and the soul as irrelevant.
  7. Ecclesiasticus (Sirach)
Main Theme: Practical wisdom for everyday life and fear of the Lord
Body: Practical teaching on health, diet, physicians
Mind: Discipline, fear of the Lord, right thinking
Soul: Humility, prayer, and soul training
Antithesis today: Practical godly wisdom and the fear of the Lord protect the whole person. This is the opposite of today’s “science” and entertainment that bend to the Will of the highest bidder, defile the body which is God’s Temple, numb the mind with TV and computer screens, and fill the soul with fornication and moral filth.
  8. Baruch (incl. Letter of Jeremiah)
Main Theme: Repentance in exile and warning against idolatry
    Body: —
Mind: Wisdom vs. human pride + warning against idols
Soul: Soul humbled before God’s wisdom and kept pure from idolatry
Antithesis today: The wisdom of God that keeps the mind humble and the soul pure from every form of idolatry — the direct opposite of today’s systems that flood the eyes and ears with fornication, the worship of movie stars and singers as gods, films filled with evil spirits and blood rituals, and all manner of debauchery that turns men and women into controlled beasts who no longer know light from darkness.
  9. Song of the Three Holy Children
Main Theme: Prayer and praise in the fiery furnace
Body: Body literally in the fiery furnace
Mind: Mind and tongue praising the Creator
Soul: Soul sings in the midst of trial
Antithesis today: A body in the fire that still praises God. This stands against today’s systems that try to force the body into their fire of control and fill the mind with entertainment that mocks the Creator.
  10. Susanna
Main Theme: Righteous woman falsely accused and vindicated
Body: Chaste woman’s body threatened with false accusation and death
Mind: Innocent, righteous mind that refuses sin
Soul: Soul cries out to God and is vindicated
Antithesis today: A chaste body and righteous mind that refuse false accusation and sin. This is the opposite of today’s systems that slander the innocent and pressure the body and soul into fornication and moral compromise.
  11. Bel and the Dragon
Main Theme: Daniel exposes and destroys false idols
    Body: Body safe from lions
Mind: Mind sees through deception and exposes false gods
    Soul: Soul refuses idolatry
Antithesis today: Exposing and refusing false gods and idols. This is the direct opposite of today’s systems that demand worship of celebrity idols, false “science,” and the occult rituals hidden in movies and entertainment.
  12. Prayer of Manasseh
Main Theme: Heartfelt repentance of a wicked king
    Body: Body humbled in chains
    Mind: Mind openly confesses sin
Soul: Model prayer of repentance and restoration
Antithesis today: True repentance that restores the whole person. This is a direct correlation to God’s Word to me, “God’s Call to Repentance.”
  13. 1 Maccabees
Main Theme: Jewish revolt against Greek oppression
Body: Bodies forced into unclean food, circumcision reversed, physical defilement
Mind: Minds pressured to accept Greek philosophy
Soul: Souls refuse idolatry — holy rebellion against control
Antithesis today: Holy refusal to let the empire defile the body or mind. This is the direct opposite of today’s forced bodily alteration, philosophical reprogramming, and the debauchery that pressures the soul into compromise.
  14. 2 Maccabees
Main Theme: Maccabean revolt with emphasis on martyrdom
Body: Bodies tortured rather than compromise
    Mind: —
Soul: Prayers for the dead, resurrection hope, soul restored
Antithesis today: Bodies that choose death over compromise and souls that hold to resurrection hope. This stands against today’s systems that demand total surrender of the body and soul to their control while mocking the hope of eternal life.

Man’s public reason for removing these books was “too expensive to print” (British and Foreign Bible Society 1826, American Bible Society 1827, final widespread removal in 1885). But the Holy Spirit is showing us the real reason: these books were taken out AFTER the sevenfold purification, so Satan working through man could gain control over our body, mind, and soul, exactly what is happening right now with mRNA shots, Neuralink, algorithms, celebrity idolatry, occult entertainment, and normalized debauchery and fornication that floods our televisions and computers. The removed books gave the clear warnings and the clear path of repentance and protection. Man took them out so the control could happen without resistance. Read the 14 removed books here.

The Holy Spirit is lifting the veil again. The fish are being called out of the poisoned water: Come out of “The Dirty Fishbowl”: Jesus is the only water that can never be polluted.
