"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Believe and have everlasting life!
but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Believe and have everlasting life!
1 Timothy 2:4 “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
All men. That includes you and me!
"Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
If you are not saved, or if you are not sure, say this prayer of salvation out loud. Say it believing in Jesus Christ:
Prayer of Salvation
"Heavenly Father, thank you for Your many blessings in my life. Thank you for forgiving me of my sins. I repent of the sin in my life, and surrender to you in full obedience. I believe with all my heart that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, who died on the cross for my sins. I believe you raised Him from the dead, and that He now sits on the throne at Your right hand in heaven. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, now and forever more. Thank you for loving me, and for Your sacrifice. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
After saying the prayer of salvation out loud, accepting Jesus as our Savior, then we can begin to build our relationship with God, the Father, and His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit inside of us. We can learn how to withstand evil every day.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5 verse 8.
These are not just words: God's Word is alive and active and powerful. But, how are we to be sober and vigilant? By reading God’s Word, wearing the full armor of God, wearing His Word. He gave us a way to withstand the wiles of the devil, to reap His full blessings:
Ephesians 6, The Whole Armor of God
13 “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
Let’s breakdown Ephesians 6, which are God’s instructions to believers on how to withstand the wiles of the devil every day, and withstand in the evil day:
1. Number 1 - Believe: We withstand evil by believing in Jesus Christ, because He is the truth, the gospel of peace, and our salvation;
2. Number 2 - Obey: We withstand evil by obeying God, the Father, who is righteousness;
3. Number 3 - Have Faith: We withstand evil by having faith in God and Jesus, real faith, faith that can move mountains, faith that can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, just as Jesus quenched them, with His words. How do we get faith? Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Or, faith comes by hearing and hearing by “reading” the word of God; and,
4. Number 4 - Pray: Finally, in verse 18, we withstand evil by praying always, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit . . . I realized as I was writing this that it says, “in the Spirit,” which means in tongues. Praying in tongues, a gift for which all Christians should strive, to speak and pray in tongues, a gift given to man by Jesus when He ascended to the right hand of God, the Father, in heaven, and sent to us the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit.
Believe. Obey. Have Faith (read God's Word). Pray (in the natural and in the Spirit). "Pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17
